A key attribute of Aspen Wireless’ extensive capabilities in Broadband Wireless is that it is based in the US, where (arguably) the Broadband Wireless industry was born and much of the most advanced Broadband Wireless networks and systems are being deployed and developed, especially in the use of license-exempt spectrum.

Many non-US companies that plan to deploy Broadband Wireless networks nearly-automatically plan to use licensed spectrum, especially in enlightened countries that don’t encumber licensed spectrum with onerous and (at times) ruinous costs of spectrum auctions. However, there are very good reasons to consider, use, and encourage the development of license-exempt spectrum.

Aspen Wireless plans to rapidly grow its non-US capabilities in coming years. However, Aspen Wireless’ extensive experience with what works, and perhaps more importantly, what doesn’t work for Broadband Wireless in the US is available immediately. Aspen Wireless’ expertise could of considerable use to companies and agencies interested in learning more about, and effectively encouraging the deployment of Broadband Wireless Internet Access systems for economic development and cost-effective expansion of telecommunications networks.
