Surveillance
Surveillance is an application that few associate with Broadband Wireless systems. Yet Broadband Wireless enables types of Surveillance that are impossible with more conventional “wireline” Surveillance. Most, if not all, Surveillance Camera vendors now offer “IP” options – an Ethernet jack instead of a coaxial cable connection.
Broadband Wireless can offer many more options for Surveillance than using wireline:
- Total location independence – you can place your Surveillance systems wherever they make the most sense to deploy – not just where you can connect them to telephone lines or route private coaxial cable
- Higher-speed connections – new Surveillance Cameras offer unprecedented resolution for the same price as previous units, just as color cameras have now displaced black and white. The bad news is that high-resolution Surveillance Cameras require faster conections; Broadband Wireless can be scaled to meet the bandwidth demands of one camera, or many.
- Redundant / failover connectivity – What good is a remote Surveillance Camera in preventing a crime if the criminal is savvy enough to cut the wirelines that carry the Camera’s signals off-premises? A redundant / failover Broadband Wireless link can insure that the information from a Surveillance Camera continue to reach the monitoring station.
Aspen Wireless can partner with Security Industry providers to provide all manner of connectivity – private, public Internet, campus, standalone, very remote locations, mobile, etc. Broadband Wireless offers a unique capability in the Security industry… not only can you put the Cameras nearly anywhere… but with Broadband Wireless, you can put the MONITORING nearly anywhere… including in the hands of field personnel.
